Oh hey! Welcome to the community.
The 2020 summer reading list was dedicated to rise up the voices that need to be heard. By curating the past list, we hoped to educate ourselves, reflect on ourselves, and/or work with our communities to start talking, take action, and work to create anti-racism allyship.
Since we published last year’s list, illustrations and incidents of systemic racism, bias, inequity, and prejudice continue to plague our society. There is still much work to be done. Again, we consulted some members of our community, asking for their recommendations. You’ll notice some of the selections are repeated; however, we’ve chosen to leave the repeats as they continue to be relevant and contribute to our journeys. We hope this year’s list will inspire your reading list and encourage dialogue and shared learning.
Join our reading club to share your reading experiences and learn from others. It’s a casual meeting that is committed to sharing and discussing whatever feelings arise from your readings. Email Cate if you’d like to join in! We hope you enjoy this year’s selection and as always, if you’d like to see a publication added, please email us!
