Efficiency Redefined: How Baldwin Wallace University Uses eRezLife
Since implementing eRezLife Software, Baldwin Wallace University’s Office of Residence Life and Housing has experienced what Bob Beyer, Senior Director of Housing & Residence Life, calls a “new era of efficiency and effectiveness.”
Streamlining Room Selection
“Gone are the days when we needed 60 staff members managing long lines, checking IDs, and coordinating logistics in the student union on a Sunday in April,” Beyer says. “Today, our entire room selection process requires only 3–4 people, significantly streamlining operations.”
Enhancing Conduct and Condition Workflows
The university’s student conduct and room condition reporting have also been transformed. eRezLife has replaced paper-based, manual processes with digital workflows that enhance efficiency and access to historical data.
Regarding student conduct, Beyer shares that the system has:
- Reduced paper usage
- Enhanced confidentiality
- Provided a seamless online workflow
- Allowed access to historical data and report generation
Room condition reports have similarly benefited: “Before eRez, we lacked historical data on room and furniture conditions. We now have a comprehensive system that not only eliminates paperwork but also enhances workflow and accuracy. This has been instrumental in student billing.”
Improving Staff Selection and Recruitment
BW initially did not use eRezLife for staff selection, but that changed. “Once we gained confidence in eRez’s capabilities, we expanded it to our recruitment and selection process,” Beyer explains. “Since then, we have seen higher rates of applications, making it easier to attract a larger and more diverse pool of candidates.”
The software now supports the entire process, from managing applications to coordinating interviews and evaluating candidates.
