Oh, hey! Welcome to the community!

At eRezLife, we love spotlighting how our campus partners use the software to create efficiencies, streamline processes, and better support students. This time, we’re mixing up our format to let their voices shine through.

Tiffany from the eRezLife team connected with Thor Banks and Bailey McDonald from Delaware Valley University’s Residence Life team. They shared how eRezLife has become the central hub of their housing and residence life operations. Enjoy this behind-the-scenes look at how Delaware Valley is making it happen!

Thor: “For us, it’s the central hub of all things related to residence life and housing. We build forms for just about all of our processes – from break stay-late requests to our intentional interactions. We did our RA training pre- and post-assessment on eRezLife as a form. Our roommate mediations, our roommate agreement forms are on here. Duty logs, weekly reports are all through eRezLife. It’s our single source of truth for daily residence life operations.

Bailey: “Our RAs are on the front lines, gathering critical information through intentional interactions with students. They’re finding out who’s transferring, withdrawing, or graduating. This information is essential not only for our planning but also for other campus partners. With eRezLife, we can track and analyze that data. It’s helped us spot trends and better support our students. It’s made our work more impactful across campus.”

Thor: “The biggest challenge was the time commitment to updating everything. Every process, every piece of form entry, housing selection – it was hours of our time. Our previous solution required technical knowledge, sifting through code to find specific pieces to change to get the desired result, or it was constantly changing pages and pages of documentation. The time commitment is significantly less with eRezLife and the ease of use for our team is much higher.”

Bailey: “We focused on improving the student experience. Some platforms can be hard for students to navigate. We’ve seen a lot more folks understanding how to use the housing portal. Students can see where their forms are, it’s straightforward – it’s easy to find what they need. They don’t feel like we’re tricking them when it comes to using the forms or using eRezLife.”

Bailey: “Break requests have drastically improved. We can now run a clean report of the break requests to have a document with everybody who’s made their request and what their request is – significantly easier and more detailed than what we previously had. And we can add and take away information as needed right at our fingertips.”

Thor:I don’t have to spend multiple days compiling information. I can run a report for many of our processes in just a few minutes, which makes reporting information much easier. It also means we now have a greater variety of reports we can run. We can respond to more nuanced questions from leadership, campus partners, and stakeholders.”

eRezLife has become an essential tool at Delaware Valley University, transforming residence life into a more streamlined, data-informed, and student-friendly experience. By reducing administrative burdens and enhancing accessibility for both staff and students, the platform has empowered the university to respond more efficiently to student needs and support broader campus initiatives with greater insight and impact.
